Fracture & Trauma Surgery

At WeLive, treatment and surgery for fractures, trauma and sports injuries follow four principles: regional anesthesia, minimal incision, no transfusion and a short hospital stay.

Treatment depends on the type of fracture, and above all the golden time must be kept to avoid recurrence and after-effects. Leaving a fracture untreated because the pain seems bearable can lead to a poorer outcome, so act quickly.

Upper limb fractures

Fractures of the upper arm, collarbone and wrist happen when falling onto the hand or an outstretched arm, in traffic accidents or from blows. They occur more easily in people with bones weakened by osteoporosis. Pain and tenderness arise from muscle spasm, overlapping bone fragments and soft-tissue damage; the area swells and bruising appears. If a fracture is suspected at all, X-rays from several angles are needed.

Hip fractures

A crack or break in the hip joint, where the thighbone meets the pelvis. Patients are often bedridden, which risks bedsores, pneumonia, stroke, heart attack and cognitive decline. Most happen when falling directly onto the side of the hip. In younger people they result from high-energy trauma such as falls from height or traffic accidents; in older people, weakened bones from osteoporosis can break in a minor fall. There is sudden severe pain in the outer thigh and groin, the leg cannot be moved, and the injured leg looks shorter with the foot and knee turned outward.

WE LIVEA trauma and fracture center open 365 days, drawing on extensive experience with complex fracture surgery to aim for fast recovery and complete rehabilitation.

Fracture treatment focuses on returning the bone to its normal position and restoring function as close to normal as possible. Active rehabilitation during healing and an early return to daily life are now emphasized, so expert surgical technique and structured rehabilitation afterward are both needed.
