Joint Medicine Clinic
Research in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of arthritis.
The diagnosis and treatment of arthritis keeps advancing. Compared with just ten years ago, the progress has been dramatic, and many things that were once impossible are now routine. New treatments are developed every day.
Effective new treatments for joint disease come from steady research and clinical experience. At the WeLive Joint Medicine Clinic, our doctors devote themselves to research built on data gathered across a wide range of cases.
An international training hospital for joint surgery
WeLive has worked to provide international joint-surgery training, and its results have earned recognition. Surgeons from Korea and abroad, including faculty from Nanjing Medical University in China and military medical officers, have trained here in shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement and robotic joint replacement.
Clinical Research Ethics Committee
An ethics committee is essential when planning clinical research and reporting results. Ours supports our doctors' research effectively and oversees the research process to protect patients' rights.
Research infrastructure across specialties
Each department has a research lead, so patient care and clinical research are integrated. The team plans studies on surgical techniques and prevention of arthritis and meets regularly to move the work forward.
Publishing in SCI journals and at congresses
Our doctors regularly present their findings in Korean and international journals and at academic meetings, then bring the results back to patient care. The clinic has continued to publish SCI(E) papers through 2024.
Reviewers and editors for international journals
As a training center for shoulder arthroscopy and robotic joint replacement, we teach orthopedic surgeons from Korea and abroad. We also lead in new techniques, including AR-assisted surgery using augmented reality and robot-assisted joint replacement.
Joint Medicine Team
The team is organized into joint, spine and non-surgical groups, providing specialist care in arthroscopy, robotic joint replacement and sports injuries. Recognized for its expertise in sports injury treatment and rehabilitation, WeLive serves athletes and general patients alike.
